This is a beautiful orange grove situated at the edge of the picturesque village of Canillas de Aceituno, the gateway to the Axarquia Mountains and National Park. The farmhouse consists of a lounge with rustic terracotta tiles and a log burning stove, rustic kitchen, and bedroom also with a wood burning stove, and an en-suite bathroom.
Outside facing south, is a shady terrace with ample room to eat or laze about. The floor surface is terracotta and so is the sunny patio to the side, which also has a spring fed plunge pool (a life saver in summer). Down a few steps is a self-contained changing room with WC and basin. This also houses the washing machine.
At present solar power electricity is used for lighting and low energy needs, with a generator for the washing machine etc. The spring water which is shared with one neighbour; flows into an ancient pool and the present owners take their share one day per week. This consists of approximately 10,000 litres for the pool and domestic use plus more than sufficient for the land which has some 70 mature citrus trees, including naval, clementinas, lemons, fig, kaki (persimmon), apricot, nisperos, nectarines, a banana tree and a few vines. There are 4 areas set aside for vegetables, and no chemicals have been used on the land for at least the last 5 years.
The national electric supply is very close to the finca and could be connected. The town water network is also found directly behind the finca, laid along the track and could also be connected if desired.
Telephone lines are nearby and could be applied for.
The finca enjoys a completely private area and is not overlooked. An ideal retreat to get away from the 'rat race' and enjoy some real Spanish country atmosphere in a tranquil setting.
